Fall Gathering will be held at Ithaca Meeting on September 21st, in conjunction with a NYYM Mentorship Reimagined workshop September 20th-22nd.

10:00 Exploring Spiritual Relationships through Faith and Play and Power of Goodness

Welcome: Stopping, Theme (2 good Religious Education approaches), and Agenda Preview

10:05 Introductions: Name and a gift I appreciate in my community… (5 people)

10:10 Agreements

  • Affirm self & others, no put downs or put ups. 

  • Speak simply and truthfully from one’s own experience.

  • Soften, listen, don’t interrupt, open to what they’re saying.

  • Balance participation: step up, step back.

  • Everyone has the right to pass.

10:15 Storytelling of Gifts: A Faith and Play Story

10:25 Wondering in a whole group

  • What was your favorite part of the story?

  • What part of the story is about you?

  • What part of the story could we leave out and still have all we need? 

  • Do you recognize these gifts in your community?

10:45 Small Group Sharing (3 people, 3 min. each, on each question in turn–show examples)

  • What relationships might have helped people in this story to discover their gifts? 

  • What types of relationships have you had, or would you like to try, that bring out spiritual gifts in you and others? Post examples of types of relationships

  • Anything you noticed in your small group that we all should hear?

  • What types of spiritual relationships help us live Spirit-led lives? Post & discuss.
